The DYMF Awards were established in 2021 to provide additional opportunity to aspiring young musicians to showcase their talent and obtain a cash prize to assist them in their music studies. We are now in our third year of the DYMF project.

Tom Davison is the Founder of the DYMA and DYMF. He studied Music and classical trumpet. At the age of 16 he won the Ruth Dyson Musicians Award and attained RSM grade 8 with Distinction at age 17.  He attended Roehampton Performing Arts Institute the SCYT and NYO and LAMDA as well as singing for  the Surrey County Choral Society and London Festival Choir. Tom played in a number of orchestras as well as session recording for DJM and Strawberry Studios.

Duncan Lustig-Prean was formerly the Patron of the DYMA. He is now a Board Member and Adjudicator of the DYMF.  He trained as a Baritone at the Royal College Of Music and The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. For Several years he was a principle baritone with Opera Southwest whom he also conducted and was regular soloist with the Band of the Royal Marines. 

Tamas Palfalvi. Tamas is a Professor of Brass at the Franz Liszt Music Academy Budapest. He is a prolific Virtuoso Trumpet player and professional recording artist with his own brass quintet “In Medias Brass.’ Tamas is an avid supporter and member of the DYMF Awards and continues as an expert panel judge. Tamas is currently working with Tom Davison on a series of music awards with the Lizst Academy in Budapest and Recitals at New College Oxford University.

Raffaele Pagano. Violinist and Composer. Raffaele Is part of the DYMF family. He is passionate about our mission and supports the Foundation in any way he can while composing and playing with the Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra and leading the Oxford Festival Orchestra.

Felix Kirkby. Felix is a Music Scholar, Oxford Graduate and Conductor of the Oxford Festival Orchestra. Felix won the DYMF Concert Award in 2023 and raised  £2500 in contributions to the DYMF through his most recent concert. He is a member of the DYMF and while not engaged in further studies has a position on the adjudicating panel for the DYMF awards.

Other Key contributors.

Sebastian Thomas. A Music Scholar, Oxford Graduate and Composer. Sebastian was commissioned to compose a piece for trumpet and piano by the DYMF, of which the premier was performed at Ely Cathedral with Tamas Palfalvi on trumpet. The recording can be viewed on our YouTube channel or gallery.  

Edward Lloyd. Is an Undergraduate studying music and piano at the Royal Northern College Of Music. He has won several prestige awards and performed at Bridgewater Hall and performed Rachmaninoff’s First Piano Concerto with the Oxford Festival Orchestra in February 2023. Edward is an Ambassador for the DYMF and assists in promoting the Foundation. Edward recently competed for and won the DYMF Bursary to aid in and complete his music studies. he is also assisting the DYMF with audition recitals and concerts.

Christina Bass. Studied music and sang in numerous choirs. Christina is not only a  benefactor But an appointed Advocate for the Foundation and recently appointed as a Voluntary Board Member.
