about

Our friend, Daniel Yakovleff, was brutally taken from us in January 2008. In his honor we are dedicated to support the community Dan loved to be a part of.  The Daniel Yakovleff Memorial Fund was formed in December 2008 in order to raise awareness and funds in an effort to address important and pressing issues among the LGBTQ community in Boston.

Please feel free to contact us with any question, comment, or suggestions you may have regarding the organization.
Any information we have regarding the case can be found under the News tab.

board of directors

Elle Jarvis, President
A perpetual student and active member in the South End community, Elle knew Dan purely from the neighborhood. The friendship between Dan and Elle that started at a local hang out eventually led to weekly haircuts in her kitchen and impromptu dinner parties where laughs were abundant.

Trevor Wright, Clerk
Trevor is the Health Promotion Programs Manager for the Boston Alliance of LGBT Youth (BAGLY Inc.) Trevor and Dan formed a strong friendship early in Dan’s hairstyling career (even though Dan would nag Trevor for his uneven self-cut sideburns) when Dan was an intern at Liquid Hair Studios on Tremont Street.

As with many of Dan’s friends in Boston, he and Erik met in the South End neighborhood where Dan worked and the two became fast friends. A recent law graduate from Suffolk University, Erik is also an alumnus of Boston College having earned a BA in political science.
